Psychic Energy

Laboratory research by parapsychologists has clearly established the existence of psychic energy (psi). It has been demonstrated that material objects can be moved in space by the power of thought. This is call psychokinesis. Many scientists have now become convinced that psychic energy exists, and are anxious to find out what it is and how it works. Some have pointed out that electricity, the energy on which the modern world is virtually dependent, has always existed as a hidden potential in the laws of nature. Yet we have only known how to harness it for about a century. From this basis, some scientists have suggested that psi energy might be as little understood and exploited as electricity was a hundred years ago.

A white magician absolutely believes that a practitioner of ritual magic would say that he or she holds the secret the psychic researchers seek, and would find the analogy
with electricity particularly apt. Before we could use electrical energy, we had to learn how to generate it, how to control and conduct it, and how to protect ourselves from it. Ritual magic claims to have this knowledge in respect to psychic energy. This energy is produced by certain rituals and it is controlled by various techniques for convincing the spirits to do the magician's bidding.

Magicians protect themselves from negative forces by various methods. Among the techniques used for this purpose are the ritual sword, magic circles, and pentacles.

The Pentagram
The five-pointed star of magical ritual is a symbol of both good and evil. With one point upward, as shown, it can be visualized as a man's body, and is a representation of the dominance of the divine spirit over the material world. Reversed, the pentagram becomes the symbol of evil, with two upward points representing the horns of the Devil. It is used in the reverse position if there is a strong necessity for dealing with evil in a ritual.
