Another technique you can do yourself is a comprehensive
self-inventory of the history of these attacks. I suggest enlisting
the assistance of a good friend, therapist, or physician if you are
not physically or psychologically able to handle this investigation.
This investigation has as its purpose the discernment of correlations
between the psychic attacks and the circumstances in the life of
the victim. All relevant places, dates, and people present should
be logged in a journal. When and where did these attacks begin? Were
there arguments or problems with certain people in the victim's life
close to the dates of these attacks?
The position of the moon, whether these dates occurred on or near
solstices or equinoxes, and whether someone died violently in the
history of the house involved should be checked into. Any occult
significance leads toward a true psychic attack.
Any obvious signs such as graveyards, haunted houses, the presence
of unusual objects (such as deities of primitive cults or weapons),
and the disappearance of these symptoms when the sufferer leaves
the house in question further buttress the case for metaphysical
forces at work.
Always keep in mind the fact that most true psychic attacks are
due to oversensitivity and vulnerability to these forces, rather
than purposeful abuse of metaphysical techniques. The content and
emotionality of dreams of the victim should also be assessed. Most
psychic attacks begin and occur during the REM cycle of our sleep.
Any history of involvement with white magic, covens,
psychic groups, and friends or associates who may be members of these
groups should
also be ascertained. Note too the frequency of the exacerbation of
attack symptoms regularly associated with any person, location, or
incident.
It is relatively uncommon for some unseen force to
come in search of some unlucky human for no apparent reason. The
previous lives
of the victim may also be a factor as to why a psychic attack is
initiated. That can be easily discovered by a session with a past
life regression hypnotherapist. I always give my patients self-hypnosis
cassette tapes so they can discover their own past lives.
One situation that is common in psychic attacks is
that of an initiate dabbling in some occultist technique, who may
stir up some other
consciousness. By the mere fact that the victim is unprotected, this
unseen force may initiate an attack as easily as an animal snapping
at you if you disturb its
rest.
We must always be on the lookout for wandering thought-forms in
our differential diagnosis. , will discuss in Chapter 6 the real
discomforts that can be brought upon a human as a result of the creation
of this energy projection.
Space does not permit presenting in this chapter a comprehensive
guide to mental disorders. A trained therapist should be consulted
to eliminate the possibility of borderline psychotic or truly psychotic
behavior of the patient. Many alleged psychic attacks are reported
by paranoid schizophrenics, hysterionics, and patients with severe
cases of mood swings, such as bipolars (formerly called manic-depressives).
Physiological factors such as a woman's menstrual
cycle, seasonal affective disorder, infections, side effects from
medication, hypoglycemia
(low blood sugar, which mimics symptoms of depression), and undiagnosed
medical conditions are easily eliminated from your choices by a thorough
medical exam, as I mentioned
earlier.
The third category of attacks by an incarnate mind will be dealt
with in detail in Chapter 9. This type of psychic attack is a result
of a premeditated action on the part of another person utilizing
a black magic or Black Brotherhood technique.
I trust this presentation has
provided you with an understanding of the difference between a
true psychic attack and other possible
explanations for these disturbances. Do not be too hasty in dismissing
a psychic attack as a simple mental disorder.
Always keep in mind that a victim of a real psychic attack is mentally
compromised. Their symptoms may have been brought on by previous
psychological factors. It does this victim no good to treat him or
her only psychologically or medically for a disorder that has its
origin in unseen forces.
You must separate
the unseen from the other possibilities. This investigation should
be conducted
thoroughly
by a competent person
and in an objective manner. Hypothetical deductive reasoning is recommended
in arriving at your conclusion. Remember the method made famous by
the fictional Sherlock Holmes, "Eliminate all possibilities;
whatever is left, no matter how improbable, is the solution.
