Directions, Flaws in Vastu and
Remedial Measures
We have so far analysed rules of the Vastushastra
as reflected in Science, Yogshastra and Jyotishshastra. On each and
every Vastudosha (defect or a flaw in the Vastu), it is possible to
find a remedial measure, provided that we seriously examine the doctrines
in these disciplines on a micro level. It is quite likely that simple
solutions can be found through application of modern science understood
in a proper perspective.
An exotic and qualitatively excellent Vastu can be designed if we grasp the
effect of phases of the sun and the moon on a Vastu and apply Vastu Purush
Mandal to
do justice to the directional aspect as identified by it. Light is the visible
part of the electromagnetic spectrum. By following the basic principles of
electromagnetism, even the part not responsive to human senses can beneficially
be used in a
Vastu to ward off micro-effects related to cosmic radiation waves
and particles. The rise and fall of ground levels, slopes resisting free flow
of magnetic flux, the effect of Agni (fire) and Yama (death) positions of the
sun on a Vastu, the drawbacks of Ishanyacut (truncated North-East) affecting
the divine influence of the moon, Vidhishul (event impediment) with reference
to a well or a water body, Vyaghramukh (tiger-faced trapezoid); all Such flaws
or defects can be rectified through the trilogy of Yogashastra- Jyotishshastra-Science
to transform a deficient Vastu into a qualitatively superior structure and
virtuous abode for the dweller |
East
Direction
According
to Vastu Purush Mandal, the East direction is governed by the sun
in its Aditya form. Vedic rites invoke the goddess of the East,
'
Indra ' by
chanting (Prachyye Dishe Indraya Namah).
Anything and everything good and
excellent in all life-forms, environment and nature is sourced
from the East direction. Therefore, if the Vastu is bestowed with
benevolent bliss primarily from the East direction, then it is
a major
achievement for the Vastu. Jyotishshastra, while casting Kal-Purush-Kundli,
(horoscope), treats the first place Mesh (Aries), the Agni (fire) sign, as
pointing towards the East.
The first place is supposed to influence the matters relating to personality,
intellect, composure and activeness. Therefore, the East direction is very
important for the smooth functioning of the household. |
